👉🏽So this is a pretty good before & after of the kitchen sink area at #LakeshoreCottage The kitchen sink did not get moved because who wouldn’t want to be looking at that view while doing a few dishes? Our KitchenAid dishwasher and fridge still have not arrived so we had to purchase alternates until we get the ones we ordered, maybe in the fall. @craneappliance will sell these Samsung appliances and we will get whatever money they receive for them as “used appliances“. Oh w
👉🏽Swipe to see what the kitchen looks like when we bought #SandPebbleCottage in 2008. I’m a little embarrassed to say that it remained that way for a long time until we renovated the cottage in 2017. There were some people we knew who told us to leave it as is, that it looked “Old Timey“ and “rustic”. Maybe if it were in the Adirondacks but not on Cape Cod where we all love white, white and more white. :-)
👉🏽Before and after of the dining room at #LakeshoreCottage The after is more than just white paint but doesn’t white paint makes such a difference to a Cape Cod cottage? The @williamssonoma chandelier looked a little “Close Encounters of the Third Kind“ when we first installed it but it grew on us. It provides a nice separation in an open floor plan. We rent this cottage for July and August only but feel free to inquire about summer 2022.
We got some cute new deck furniture at #SandPebbleCottage There was nothing actually wrong with the old furniture but it just looked dated and had seat cushions that would get wet if left out in the rain. We bought a bigger set of the same furniture for #StarfishCottage next door as well. Fall availability at those cottages. Pet friendly add those cottages.
The view from the hot tub at #SundanceCottage changes with the seasons. I wish I had a picture of the hot tub with the snow falling. I’ll have to get my self over there on a snowy day this winter. ❄️ It’s pretty spectacular in the fall as well. 🍁 🍂 We just bought a new fire pit for the back patio for warming up and roasting marshmallows. We have some nice dates still available in September, October and beyond!
This space used to be a oversized wood paneled den/office. It also had a trap door under the carpet into the basement. 🤷🏽♀️ #SummerCottage That was weird and unnecessary since there is a staircase down to the basement already. Our close friends suggested moving the tiny original kitchen (now the twin room) to this open, airy space and we never looked back. We just love how light and bright the room is. It’s a happy space :-) Availability starting in September. Pet friendly
👉🏽SWIPE👉🏽 before & after at #SeaglassCottage The bedrooms were already pretty light and bright but raising the ceilings in the rooms at this cottage made all the difference. Raising ceilings seems like an easy job but it’s actually one of the more difficult projects you can take on. Dealing with existing insulation, adding more trusses or bracing and doing it all with your arms raised above your head is totally exhausting but almost nothing makes a greater impact. This co
A few not often posted spots at #StarfishCottage I really wanted to include a shot of the wood burning fireplace ablaze but I don’t have one! I’ll have to fix that. Starfish Cottage sleeps 6 (or 7 with the very comfortable rollaway, shown in picture 6). We’re Pet Friendly, short walk to ocean beach & village, bikes, firepit & the aforementioned wood burning fireplace. Availability starting in September & also booking for next summer 2022!
When we renovated the kitchen at #LakeshoreCottage we needed some storage but did not want to do upper cabinets and were over the basic shelving that’s so prevalent now (full disclosure, we’ve done shelving plenty of times ourselves). So we had these iron units made by @stuffsethmakes and had them shipped to us. Because of a miscommunication that was completely our fault, the shelves were not tall enough when they arrived. We added the “legs“ at the top of the shelves to get
When we bought #SeaglassCottage in 2014, We were the first ones to look at the property and make an offer on it. A neighbor from California stopped by to tell us he had missed buying the cottage by hours. We felt very lucky to have been the ones to secure it and we still do! 👉🏽 Second photo is what the kitchen looked like at the time of purchase. The one bathroom opened up right into the kitchen. Yuck! (And the door hit the toilet) We have some nice fall '21 openings and th
